The Reliable Spine Approach to Spine Care
Find out more about the phases of care that we offer to get you standing up straight
Initial Intensive Stage (Inflammatory phase)
Ultrasound guided dry needling, gentle mobilisation techniques using the Raphael 707 automatic drop function. Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation will be used towards the end of the inflammatory phase to breakdown any scar tissue adhesions and allow normal tissue healing. Aim: reduce inflammation, improved movement and reduce pain. This phase normally lasts 2 – 4 weeks, with 2 – 3 sessions per week, depending on severity and duration of symptoms. In more severe and chronic cases this phase may last up to 6 – 12 weeks.
Corrective stage
This is when symptoms have subsided and the aim of this treatment is to restore normal function of the spine promoting normal tissue healing, improving sensorimotor integration, proprioceptive feedback ensuring long term solution. We will use the Raphael 707 dynamic 3-D spinal decompression technique, chiropractic adjustments in this phase, and functional and kinetic treatment with rehab. Where necessary a scoliosis bracket will be used for postural correction or to improve spine balance. This phase usually last 6 – 8 weeks, with 1 – 2 sessions per week. This depends on how long the patient can hold/maintains the correction before the spine regresses/stiffen up again. Your ability to adapt will dictate appropriate recommendations and your progress.
Stabilisation stage
The aim of this treatment approach is to retrain spine stabilisers by means of specific exercise customed to each patient’s unique needs. During this phase, the patient will be expected/or advised to return to their favourite sporting activities. Chiropractic adjustments, 3-D spinal decompression will also be incorporated in this phase of care. This is usually done fortnightly and lasts up to 12 weeks.
Maintenance stage
As the spine is under constant load, the discs are subjected to continued compression and maybe prone to damage. Our maintenance phase is designed to regularly monitor spine function, decompress the discs, and ensure that the correction maintained and not lost. This is a form of preventative care. Wouldn’t it be better to prevent a problem than to address one? This is when you become a practice member and are eligible for member benefits detailed elsewhere. The maintenance phase is a 4 – 6 weekly regular check-ups and review.

He took me through a very detailed consultation, performed some tests and showed me my XRays. All these things combined helped me to understand why I was in pain as my body was compensating due to my posture, this has accumulated over time from my rugby injuries. After my first adjustment I could feel the relief already, I now see Dr Morris regularly so that I can perform at my best on the field and in the gym, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience. I would recommend him to everyone and anyone, he taught me that chiropractic care is about wellness and total health, I am now no longer concerned about my posture long term as I have already seen great improvements physically and mentally. Thank you so much Dr Morris!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Blu Di2024-07-12DC Morris is a wonderful Chiropractor, with a dedication towards health and bettering people’s lives. He was very attentive and ensured he got the whole picture before starting my treatment. I felt confident and comfortable under his care; I always left feeling so much better than when I went in! He helped me combat my frequent migraines with his adjustments and I stopped having them altogether after consistently seeing him. I definitely recommend Morris to anyone who is looking for long term pain relief.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Linda Kahere2024-07-01Very professional and reliable indeed. I was struggling with my back for a long time due to a scoliosis (abnormal sideway curve) of my spine. Since I started at Reliable Spine, I have no pain at all. I started off with the pain treatment intensive stage, went on to do the advanced postural correction with a 3D decompression table. Now I am on the stabilisation stage with my SpineCor TechnoAssist Brace. For scoliosis and postural care in Scotland, I cannot recommend Reliable Spine enough.
